Angelina Jolie Supports ‘Kony 2012’: It’s ‘A Wonderful Movement’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Dozens of celebrities have spoken out and/or Tweeted their support of filmmaker Jason Russell’s video “Kony 2012” since it hit YouTube on Monday and now, the movement aiming to bring down Joseph Kony (leader of the Lord’s Resistance Amy in Uganda) has gained the support of yet another huge star – Angelina Jolie.

“Well, it’s been a wonderful movement for a long time,” the mother of six told Reuters at a Women’s Day Event in New York City on Thursday of the social media push efforting the surrender of the ruthless warlord.

“I don’t think I know anybody who doesn’t hate Joseph Kony and anyone who works in the international field has been aware, and I’ve been to Uganda and Congo and been to the International Criminal Court myself and spoken with the chief prosecutor about the case and he’s the one that we all want to see in jail,” the actress continues.“So I think it’s great that more people are talking about it.”

The “In The Land of Blood and Honey” writer/director is also encouraged by the fact that so many youths have taken up the cause and are interested in bringing the guerilla leader (who stands accused of abducting more than 66,000 children and forcing them to became soldiers) to justice.

“He’s an extraordinarily horrible human being who, you know…his time has come,” Angelina added. “And it’s lovely to see that young people are [rising] up as well.”

While testifying in court during former “Desperate Housewives” actress Nicollette Sheridan’s wrongful termination trial on Thursday, series line producer George Perkins revealed another shocking death will soon rock Wisteria Lane.

Mike Delfino (played by James Denton) will meet his untimely demise on Sunday’s episode of the long-running ABC drama, Perkins revealed.

Denton was reportedly informed of his character’s impending death roughly two months ago, and the actor revealed details about his death to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday, saying Delfino will die “violently.”

“I [think it’s fitting] because he was such a shady character in the beginning. We weren’t sure what he was up to,” Denton told EW. “In fact, in the very beginning, [showrunner] Marc [Cherry] had this idea that Delfino might have mob connections and that’s why his name was Delfino. Then, when he had the whitest, WASP-y actor in town come in and be Delfino, he let the mob connection die.

“I think from the beginning he’s had this idea of Delfino and the mob and that criminal past. We just haven’t addressed it in four or five years,” he added. “It’s perfectly fitting and especially because they’re going to do some flashbacks in this episode that show his life flashing before his eyes. It’s going to be slow motion with scenes from the pilot all the way. I’m hoping some of that will be some of his criminal dark side.”

“Desperate Housewives” airs Sundays on ABC at 9 PM.

Angelina Jolie's intriguing new tattoo is overshadowing her humanitarian mission to a refugee camp on the Libyan border of Tunisia.

The tattoo on her upper left arm -- an ongoing work in progress -- is a list of the map coordinates for where her six children were born; in a mysterious new twist, the 35-year-old Earth Mother unveiled a seventh line of ink while visiting refugees this week, causing a stir among Jolie watchers: Is she planning a seventh addition to the patchwork Brangelina brood?

The coordinate list has been updated to reflect each new addition to the Jolie-Pitt family. In 2007, Jolie debuted her first batch of mapping numerals: the coordinates for the birthplaces of their first four children. Starting from the top down, the longitudinal and latitudinal numbers represent the birth locations for: Maddox, 9 (Cambodia); Zahara, 6 (Ethiopia); Shiloh, 4 (Namibia); Pax, 7 (Vietnam). Jolie revealed two more inky coordinates -- for now-two-year-old Knox and Vivienne, born in France -- in October 2008.

This latest line, the seventh, remains a mystery. Wonderwall points out that the first number on the bottom line is 35 (it's difficult from the photo to make out the full sequence), which could indicate such disparate locales as Algeria or Brad Pitt's birthplace in Oklahoma. (The coordinates for Shawnee, Oklahoma, where Brad was born, are3520'33"N 9656'2"W.)

What does it all mean? There are a handful of potential scenarios: Jolie wanted to pay tribute to Pitt (romantic). Or they secretly adopted a baby, a la Sandra Bullock (stealthy!). Or maybe the actress and tabloid fixture sought to grab more attention for her United Nations work by tacking on cryptic coordinates (strategic!).
(Of note: In February, Jolie denied rumors she intended to adopt a Haitian girl.)
Whatever the case, the numbers mean something. Jolie, a star in full control of her image, rarely does anything without considering the public ramifications.
